Dr. Ping and Dr. Bui giving the opening remarks for KDD 2025 Health Day.

Dr. Peipei Ping co-chaired the ACM Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (KDD) 2025 Health Day with the theme “Harnessing AI Opportunities in Biomedicine and Healthcare”, alongside Dr. Wei Ding (UMass-Boston) and Dr. Carl Yang (Emory University), on August 5, 2025 in Toronto, Canada. Ping Lab staff member Caitlin Ree also attended as the Health Day Program Manager and to present recent efforts from the Ping Lab. Speakers from government and academia shared their visions for how AI-driven knowledge discovery can address pressing challenges in medicine, from personalized treatment strategies to large-scale public health initiatives. The agenda included visionary keynote, plenary, and invited lectures; a panel discussion of influential leaders in the field; and a series of "Blue Sky" lightning talks from forward-thinking young investigators.

The Ping Lab showcased our recent efforts in AI and data science for biomedicine and healthcare, with five accepted posters presented in the main conference. We're grateful to KDD, all our invited speakers, and everyone who attended for making this an exciting and insightful forum for discussing recent progress and future advances.
